Review manager schedule changes

Use optional owner approval without mistaking a proposal for a live schedule.

Owner: turn approval on or off

This setting is off by default. Only the owner can change it or approve and reject proposals. Owner and admin scheduling changes remain direct.

Switching approval off allows new manager changes to be direct again. It does not automatically approve or delete existing pending proposals.

  1. Open Attendance policies → Approvals.

  2. Review the Require owner approval setting.

  3. Enable it if manager scheduling changes should be reviewed before they take effect.

Manager: submit and track a proposal

  1. Create or edit the policy, roster or assignment using the normal screen.

  2. Read the result. A submitted request is pending; it is not a saved live schedule.

  3. Open Approvals to track your requests and any review note.

  4. Withdraw a pending request if it is no longer needed. Submit a fresh proposal after a rejection or withdrawal if the change is still required.

Owner: review the proposed change

Approval checks permissions and shift conflicts again. If validation fails, nothing is applied and the request remains pending. A new roster with selected employees is reviewed as one request; bulk changes to existing assignments may create one request per person.

  1. Open the pending request and review its people, branches, dates and proposed values.

  2. Approve and apply the request, or reject it with a useful note.

  3. If the underlying schedule or manager access changed, reject the stale proposal and ask for a new one.

  4. Confirm the result before telling staff their schedule has changed.
